Each 500 mg capsule provides minimal caloric value and carbohydrates, with negligible amounts of fat, protein, fiber, and sodium.
Caroba contains D-chiro-inositol, obtained from the carob (Ceratonia siliqua) pod through a patented extraction process. A deficiency of D-chiro-inositol in peripheral tissues contributes to insulin resistance, leading to ovarian hyperandrogenism and PCOS.
D-chiro-inositol helps restore hormonal balance by reducing luteinizing hormone (LH) and serum testosterone, improving insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance, and lowering circulating insulin levels. It also decreases oxidative stress on ovarian follicles, reduces total cholesterol and triglycerides, and supports cardiovascular health by helping control arterial pressure.
Clinically, it has been shown to improve ovulation regulation, often within two weeks, and to reduce PCOS-related skin manifestations such as hirsutism, acne, alopecia, and acanthosis nigricans.
Take 1–2 capsules orally per day, or as directed by the physician. The minimum recommended treatment duration is 2 months.
Concurrent use with digoxin may increase the risk of digoxin toxicity.
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to D-chiro-inositol.
Generally well tolerated when used at recommended doses..
Human studies on inositol have not shown clinically significant adverse effects
